The Southern Maryland Carousel Group

In support of the work done by the carvers of the Southern Maryland Carousel Group, Horse and Dragon, The Carousel Carvers was donated to this non-profit organization to show off the wonderful carving and to help the group with publicity and fundraising. The painting above was hanging at the Maryland State Legislative offices in Annapolis for the 2008 legislative session. In addition to painting the work of the carvers, N. Stewart painted one of the horses for the group and is working on painting a full-sized lion (see below). The horse is modeled after the horse on the obverse side of the Great Seal of Maryland.
