Early American Portraiture
From colonial times to the advent of the photograph, N. Stewart will give a lecture slide show on the rich history of early american fine and folk art portraiture, from famous artists who painted George Washington to itinerant and unknown folk artists.  Included in the lecture are Maryland Artists such as the Peale family and former slave Joshua Johnson.

Growing Cacti and other Unusual Succulents
N. Stewart has had a twenty five year career as a nursery grower, IPM Specialist, radio garden show host, Master Gardener instructor and University of Maryland adjunct lecturer.  Her husband Bob has a passion for growing cacti and other unusual succulent plants with a potted plant collection exceeding 500 succulents and an 800 square foot year-round cacti and succulent garden.  As an inspiration for her botanical paintings, N. Stewart will share their tips and mishaps about growing cacti and other succulent plants indoors and out here in Maryland.
